I’ve put together a list of vegan friendly supermarkets products, tips & tricks to help you navigate a #plantbased supermarket shop right here in NZ!

This list doesn’t cover all the vegan supermarket products by any means, there are far too many! I’ve included products either I use on a weekly basis or those that I’m aware of. Including the below categories:

P.S One of my favourite tips for trying out new recipes is that you can purchase the exact amount of ingredients you need - therefore avoiding any potential food waste of ingredients you only use as a one off/seasonally 🌞

Vegan waffles with coconut yoghurt & fresh nectari

Vegan waffles with coconut yoghurt & fresh nectarine.

Cosy breakfast in bed vibes perfect for a public holiday 💤 What are you having for #brunch today? 👩🏼‍🍳

Waffles topped with @raglancoconut yoghurt, @ceresorganics maple syrup & freshly sliced nectarine 🍑 served with @organicindianz chai ☕️

Save this recipe for an easy vegan waffle mix:
1 1/2 cups of flour
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp ACV
Pinch of salt

Sift into a large bowl and mix in the following:
1 1/2 cups of oat milk
2 Tbsp melted coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla essence

Mix into a liquid batter, add more milk if needed & pour into your waffle machine 1/2 cup at a time

Get the taste of the sea, without any cruelty!

Hemp crumbed calamari with homemade pickle tartar recipe

Ingredients:

Natures Charm mushrooms
1 cup white flour
1 cup oat milk
1/2 cup Hemp hearts
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander powder

Sauce:
1/2 cup plain coconut yoghurt
1/4 cup chopped parsley
5 pickles
1 tsp crushed garlic
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

Method:

1. Prepare the sauce by blending all ingredients and placing in the fridge to chill.
2. Take three shallow dishes, one with flour, one with oat milk and one with hemp hearts and spices mixed.
3. Drain the mushroom and piece by piece fold into the flour, before dipping into the oat milk, then hemp mix.
4. Heat a fry pan on the stove with a dash of hemp oil and prepare a paper towel on a plate.
5. Fry on high, turning once golden and crispy. This should only take a few minutes.
7. Plate in small dish with the zingy pickle tartar sauce and serve with fresh lemon 🍋
